The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof Ernest Kofi Davis, convened a Special Management Meeting on Wednesday, 25th February, 2026, to take stock of the Service’s strategic direction and examine key developments within the education sector.

The high-level engagement brought together members of Management to review priorities for the year and ensure that every Directorate remains firmly aligned with the broader mandate of delivering quality education to Ghanaian learners. The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts to strengthen internal coordination, sharpen institutional focus, and drive measurable impact at the school level.

Each Directorate presented its strategic action plan, outlining targeted interventions, programme innovations, and clearly defined performance indicators. Presentations centred on improving learning outcomes, enhancing teacher support systems, strengthening supervision and accountability mechanisms, and ensuring that policies are effectively translated into improved classroom experiences for pupils and students across the country.

Beyond planning, discussions addressed critical sector developments, ongoing reforms, and emerging challenges requiring a cohesive and proactive leadership response. Management engaged in robust deliberations aimed at identifying practical solutions, minimising systemic bottlenecks, and accelerating implementation timelines where necessary.

In his remarks, Prof Davis underscored the importance of strategic alignment across Directorates, data-driven decision-making, and sustained stakeholder engagement. He emphasised that collaboration, transparency, and performance tracking remain central to achieving equitable, inclusive, and high-quality education for every child in Ghana.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from Management to uphold accountability standards, strengthen service delivery, and maintain a results-oriented culture within the Service.
