SURPRISE WORKING VISIT BY THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL TO SCHOOLS IN THE ASHANTI REGION

April 2, 2026 | 0 views

The Director-General, Prof. Kofi Davis, together with members of his management team, paid a surprise working visit to selected schools in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, 1 April 2026.

These unannounced visits have become a regular feature of his leadership approach, providing an opportunity to engage directly with both teaching and non-teaching staff, observe school operations at first hand, assess real-time practices, audit food and feeding conditions, and offer immediate support where necessary.

During this visit, the delegation toured a number of schools across the region. Interactions with kitchen staff and on-site inspections revealed that schools currently have adequate food stocks. It was also evident that the quality of meals and overall feeding arrangements has improved over time.

However, some schools expressed concerns regarding the limited number of kitchen staff and appealed for the recruitment of additional personnel to ease the workload. The Director-General acknowledged these concerns and assured them that the matter would be given careful consideration.
