Training for the first Cohort of the General Pedagogy Training for Untrained Teachers on the National Service Scheme (NSS) Teaching Module was held at six (6) centers across the country from 5th to 16th December, 2022.
On Thursday 15th December Dr Eric Nkansah, the Acting Director-General of GES, the Registrar of the National Teaching Council (NTC) Dr Christian Addae-Poku and the Deputy Registrar of the National Teaching Council (NTC) Mr. Lawrence Sarpong visited the Training center at the University of Ghana, Legon.
The training, which is the first of its kind, is equipping National Service Personnel deployed to second cycle schools with the essential skills, strategies and tools needed to make maximum impact in the classrooms during their one-year National Service period.
In addition, the Service Persons will acquire foundational Pedagogical skills in preparation for their work in schools as teachers.
A total of 2,025 National Service Personnel participated in the residential training which was facilitated by tutors selected from all the 46 Colleges of Education.
