The Management of the Ghana Education Service has organized a 5-Day Orientation workshop for 205 potential district directors at the Noda Hotel, Fumesua, Ashanti Region.
The orientation that started on Monday 29 November is expected to end on Friday 4 December 2020.
These newly promoted Director IIs are expected to occupy vacant positions in the Service at the District and Regional Education Offices and at the headquarters, Accra, as and when they become available.
Management members led by the Director General, Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa, Deputy Director General, Mr Anthony Boateng; Esq, (Management Services), Dr. Kwabena B. Tandoh, (Access and Quality), Mrs Adjoa van Vicker (Dir, HRMD) Mrs Patty Assan, Schools and Instructions), Rev. Dr. Christian Koramoah, (Financial Controller), Mrs Bernice Addae, Special Education) among other Divisional Directors took turns to make presentations to the participants.
The presentations centred on management processes and procedures in the Service and also on some of the institutional reforms being embarked by the service and supervisory responsibilities as Directors of Education.
The Hon. Minister, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh passed through to share his thoughts with the team. He expressed appreciation to Council and Management for the work done so far.
He added that there was more to be done to improve on the activities of the service and learning outcomes. He urged all to be committed in pursuing the mandate of providing quality education to the Ghanaian child.
The Chief Director, Mr Benjamin Gyasi and some Ministry officials were present as well.
The DG, DDGs, Divisional,Regional Directors and Unit Heads took turns to present on their activities, achievements and challenges.
The 2-day meeting which began on Wednesday 25th Nov, 2020 at Royal Lee’s hotel – Tutu Akuapem, in the Eastern Region came to a close today.
