GES Headquarters Undergoes Fire Simulation Exercise
Ghana Education Service on Friday 9th of October 2020, underwent a fire simulation exercise at its Head Office premises.
The exercise was to test the preparedness of the emergency elements put in place to ensure staff and visitors safety in case of emergency situations.
The lead conductor, DOI, Micheal Ato Korsah, Deputy Director, Safety, and his team from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), elaborated on some activities that should be avoided during emergency situations. He stated that running back into restricted areas during emergencies to pick up valuable items should be avoided completely. The Deputy Director praised the staff for their swift response to the emergency alarm.
Speaking after the exercise, the Deputy Director General, in charge of Management Services, Mr. Anthony Boateng impressed on staff to extend these safety practices learned to their homes to ensure personal safety and the safety of their family members.
“Management of GES is collaborating with GNFS to extend fire safety measures in all senior high schools in the country”, Mr. Boateng Said.
Mr. Boateng further explained that GES engaged GNFS to conduct Safety audit in all the senior high schools.
According to the DDG the report has been submitted to management for consideration and further discussions.
